18 May Pacific Telecommunications Council
Pacific Telecommunications Council, recognised as PTC, is the leading global non-profit membership organisation promoting the advancement of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the Pacific Rim. PTC’s vision is a better world where people and organisations are connected through the innovative use of ICT, and its mission is to advance the ethical development and use of ICT through collaboration, knowledge, and outreach.
PTC’s Annual Conference, held each January in Honolulu, is the Pacific Rim’s premier telecommunications event and serves as the strategic springboard for the global communications industry. While the Annual Conference is one of the main focuses of the organisation, PTC continues its efforts through its many community initiatives – PTC Academy, PTC Young Scholar Program, PTC Research Awards, and PTC Projects. PTC Members and its committee volunteers are the pillar of the organisation as they support and further enhance PTC’s vision and mission. The organisation provides the platform for stakeholders from across the global communications ecosystem to meet, network, and advance the development of ICT through education, research, and the sharing of ideas to benefit the people of the Pacific region.
Over the last seven years, PTC has invested more than USD 800,000 in over 30 countries, helping the future of digital telecommunications thrive by supporting up-and-coming scholars, bringing the Internet to hard-to-reach locations, and training the next generation of executives, the future of telecom management.
